How to Add a Link to Your Instagram Profile

There are many business accounts on Instagram. Some belong to large companies, of course, but most are ordinary private entrepreneurs. Someone makes custom cakes, someone does manicures, someone is a photographer, a host, or, like me, a web developer.

All such accounts need to show ways to contact and order from them. I know the most convenient method and want to share it with you.

A Link for Convenient Contact With You

There is nothing wrong with writing a phone number, but customers often prefer messages over calls. For many entrepreneurs this is also more convenient, because it does not require dropping everything and answering immediately.

Forgive me, but the phrase "Message me in Direct" says almost nothing. Everyone already knows they can message any account in Direct, except new users, and they may not even know what Direct is.

The most popular communication method is WhatsApp, but because you cannot message a person who is not in your contacts, it becomes a poor solution. Personally, I dislike adding an unfamiliar person to my contacts just for one conversation and then having to remember to delete them so my phone does not fill up with unknown contacts.

Do not write off messengers such as Viber. Some people prefer Facebook Messenger. Not many, but they exist. Telegram has also become popular thanks to convenient notifications from KazPost.

You can add one link to your account that opens all messengers at once.

A person opens your profile looking for contacts. It says: "Our phone is this, and to send a message, follow the link." They click, choose the messenger that is convenient for them, and write to you immediately. It is free for both you and them.

How do you do this? Easily. Go to mssg.me. Register; that should not be a problem, and you can sign in through Facebook or Google.
During registration you must immediately choose your final link. It cannot be changed later, so think it through and keep it short.

The service has only three settings: Profile, Buttons, and Design for the page itself.

1. In the profile, add a photo and a short description of yourself. It is best to include your name so the visitor immediately knows how to address you. You can leave the description as it is, but I put the name in the description and the phone number in the name field to show the full set of contacts on one page.
   You cannot create a phone button here, and you do not really need one: dialing a phone number manually is easy. If you open my link in a phone browser, the number is detected automatically and you can call in one tap.
2. The "Buttons" tab is straightforward. It contains the full list of available messengers. If you do not use one of them, simply do not add it. I do not use Skype for work, so it is absent. You can leave only WhatsApp if you want, but if clients matter to you, add several ways to contact you. You can also configure your own button with a link.    This lets you use the page as a contact page not only for Instagram clients, but also in other social networks, SMS messages, email, and so on.
3. The "Design" tab simply lets you replace the background: choose a color, choose an image, or upload your own.

Other Link-Building Services

There is a simple way to make a link for an Instagram profile without any intermediaries. As with the previous service, the user will not choose between messengers: after clicking, they immediately open the chat you need. It does not have to be WhatsApp; it can be Telegram, VKontakte messages, or Facebook Messenger. A Link to Your Business Card Page

If you do not have a website, you can quickly create a personal page with about.me. It will be something like an electronic business card where you can add a detailed description, because Instagram itself does not give you much space.

For example, imagine your whole feed is close-up photos of hands and nails, while your profile only says that you do manicures and gives a phone number. That is not enough.

Clients need to know:

• whether you are self-taught or completed courses;
• whether you work from home or in a salon;
• what your address is;
• how many years you have been doing this;
• what time people can call you;
• what kind of person you are;
• and finally, what your name is.

All of this can be described on an about.me page, and you can add that link to your profile.

The key feature of this resource is its focus on one action. That action is displayed on the main button. I want you to subscribe to my YouTube channel, so I selected that action there.

At the bottom of the page, you can add all your social groups. If you spend more than 20 minutes, yours will definitely turn out better than mine.

Adding a Link to Your Instagram Profile Description

Now all that remains is to place the link in your profile.

Adding a link from a phone: open your profile and tap "Edit profile".

Adding a link from a computer: open the Instagram account editor. Enter your login and password if asked, and you will be on the right page immediately.

When editing a profile, there is a "Website" field and then a "Bio" field. Instagram should have swapped these fields, because in the public profile everything appears in the opposite order: first the description, and only at the end the link.

Write in the bio: "Choose a convenient way to contact us - " and paste the link into the website field.
