Set Up Pagination

Pagination has several rules:

• Search bots need to see all pages. For unknown reasons and outdated recommendations, often all pagination pages _except the first_ are closed `in the robots.txt file` or `robots meta tag`. This hides not only these pages, but also all products/services/articles that are listed on these pages.
• The link to the 1st page must be WITHOUT the `?page=1` parameter
• There should be no links to non-existent pages `?page=0` or a link to the fifth `?page=5` if there are only 4 pages
• Each pagination page must have its OWN canonical link (there are rare exceptions when using non-standard pagination methods)
• SEO text should be displayed only on the first page to avoid duplicate content.
• The Title meta tag must contain the page number for all but the first page. `→ Page 2`, `→ Page 3`, etc. are automatically added. It is advisable, but not necessary, to make such a note in the Description meta tag.
• There should be meta tags `rel=prev` and `rel=next` if there is a previous and/or next page (_P.S.: has become optional, but I recommend_)

Typically, sites use one pagination code. If you set up pagination for one template, then all this will take effect immediately for all other paginations on the site. However, more than once I came across situations when I had to work with each template separately.

The initial price includes customization for one template, and if all or part of the edits are not applied to all places with pagination, I will charge an additional cost.
